9:24 am- a moment that I have not had for a very long time, too long.
Waking up, not the usual sudden jump to turn off the 5:45 buzzer to get up, but opening my eyes steadily until I can see straight again.
Outside my open window I hear the rain slowly falling to the ground in it’s perfectly haphazard way.
The fan on, the sticky breeze blowing around and the covers up to my eyelids. I feel my toes wiggle and a stretch through my spine.
The room is still dark, a comfortable grey glow from the gloom outside.
With no real place to go and no real things to do I feel content, almost happy.
